No matter how good you are at this “eating right” thing, surely you still have your moments when you’re craving sweet treats. It’s totally normal, and it’s also okay to indulge that sweet tooth once in awhile—especially when you stick to healthy sweet treats! That’s easier than you might think when you check out the collection of healthy desserts we’ve compiled that just so happen to taste amazing without sacrificing the nutrients you need. So if you’re on the hunt for some splurge worthy desserts that won’t completely derail your diet, take a look at this list of sweet treats you won’t feel guilty about eating.

Snickerdoodle Donuts

Okay, Snickerdoodle Donuts don’t sound like they could be healthy sweet treats in any way, right? But I’m delighted to tell you that this assumption is incorrect! Just take a look at the ingredient list for this Milk Life recipe and you’ll see why. Spoiler alert: It’s largely made up of surprisingly healthy options like whole-wheat flour, fat-free yogurt, and low-fat milk. Sure, you’ll need to add some goodies like brown sugar to get that sweet flavor you’re looking for in most splurge worthy desserts…but for once, sugar is far from the main ingredient in this treat.

Chocolate Zucchini Cupcakes

At least this recipe actually has a healthy ingredient in the name…but then it also says chocolate and cupcake, so it’s understandable if you don’t know what to think about these Chocolate Zucchini Cupcakes. But you can relax, because most of the ingredients are pretty good for you, which is why these cupcakes work great for breakfast. There’s the zucchini of course, but then there’s also applesauce, whole-wheat flour, ground flaxseed, and lots of spices to add the sweet taste you want in healthy, sweet treats. This recipe comes courtesy of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, so you know it’s full of good stuff since they’ve got your back!

Strawberry Oatmeal Bars

I confess, I love every single recipe Well Plated by Erin develops and if you’re not reading her blog on the regular and stalking her on Insta, you’re missing out. Here is a super sweet-yet-healthy treat that’s just 100 calories. The main ingredients in these amazing Strawberry Oatmeal Bars are whole-wheat flour, rolled oats, and, well, strawberries. Sure, there’s also some sugar and butter in there, plus a powdered sugar based glaze on top, but those aren’t the main ingredients. This makes for an easy, healthy dessert, or simply a sweet breakfast or midday snack.

Chocolate Avocado Pudding

If you’re used to making pudding that comes in a box and mixes with regular ol’ milk, you’re in for a treat. A healthier treat, more specifically. When you make Chocolate Avocado Pudding, the ingredients you’ll need to gather up include avocados, coconut milk, unsweetened dark cocoa powder, honey, and a few other tidbits. Basically, this pudding features mostly healthy ingredients that taste really good when you blend them all together! But that’s not surprising since this recipe comes from Jessica Merchant’s How Sweet Eats blog where you can be sure you’ll find more splurge worthy desserts and sweet treats. While you’re there, check out her new cookbook, as it is all kinds of amazing!!
