Guest Posting with Middle Chicks

Well hi there—thanks for checking us out! Middle Chicks is a community of diverse, dynamic women of all ages, but we are largely centered on women at midlife. What is “midlife” exactly? Great question! Midlife is defined differently based on where you happen to be in your life journey, but for our purposes, our audience tends to be women from about their late 30s, up through and beyond their 60s. Broad, right? Well, that’s what midlife is. Broad. And that means an interesting group of women, all living different lives, walking different paths, and doing really amazing things.

Every single day thousands of women see our content through our website, our social channels, and our email newsletters, and we’d love to feature you and your passions, your unique voice, ideas, insights, thoughts, and life experiences with our community. Even better, we can use our large digital footprint to help build and grow your personal brand presence (and following), promote the things that are important to you, and also help you make new friends along the way.

Sound interesting? Let’s make sure we’re a good fit for one another. Here are our editorial guidelines, developed as the result of years of working with media sites and contributing writers, as well as from the feedback of our own contributor network.

When you submit to the Middle Chicks blog, you agree to the following:

We accept posts from established experts in a particular field and/or women who have interesting things to say, and it’s our preference to work with regular contributors. What does “regular” mean? That means we’d like to have a relationship with you, and build a connection with you and our readers. That means we’d like a commitment from you to provide at least one article per month. Any less and it’s not only a disconnect for our audience who will see and enjoy your content, and who wants more from you, it’s the only way to build personal credibility and reach over the long term.

Topic categories on the blog are diverse, and include:

  • Health, Beauty, and Wellness
  • Product reviews (on real stuff we’ve tried, with real opinions)
  • Dating, Relationships, Sex
  • Parenting, Grand-parenting, and Elder Care
  • Work, Career, and Reinvention
  • Fitness, Friendship, and Self Care
  • Travel and Adventure
  • Food, Cooking, and Entertaining
  • Lifestyle and Fashion
  • Finance, Money Management, and Retirement

If you’re the creative sort, please make sure your content provides how-to tutorials and step-by-step advice. Whether this is cooking, baking, gardening, or something else creative, the women in our community love learning and we aim to please.

Guest posts must be original and must not have been previously published on any other site. Once they go live on Middle Chicks, they can absolutely be syndicated elsewhere, with a link back to where the article first published.

Please try to keep your posts to a minimum of 500 to 600 words in length. They can be as long as you like, hopefully broken up with subheads for both SEO purposes as well as for ease of reading.

Creative articles can be shorter, but still need to hit a minimum of 300 words in length (for SEO purposes) and should include images.

All articles submitted should be your own work and any references used cited accordingly.

The Middle Chicks editorial team will review your content submissions, including all links, and approve prior to publication. You are welcome to include affiliate links within your articles, but please try to keep them between one and two links.

Please provide a short author’s bio, headshot, and include links to your social media channels, which will be featured in your author’s box on the Middle Chicks site.

Middle Chicks reserves the right to include its own links or ads in any submitted articles.

You will not receive compensation for your submission.

Ready to Get Started?

Whew! That was long, probably boring, but necessary. Thanks for wading through. Now, let’s get to the fun part. The amazing women in our community can’t wait to hear from you, and we can’t wait to use our marketing and content distribution and amplification chops to make you an even bigger deal than you already are.

By the way, we forgot to mention that we have an amazing webcast called Middle Chicks: Life in the Middle, and we regularly feature our guest contributors on the show. If that’s something you might be interested in, we’re definitely up for exploring that!

We should also mention that once you’re a part of our author community, we’ll not only use our gigantic digital footprint to distribute content you contribute to our site, we’ll help you amplify and distribute content you publish on your own site as well. We’re all in this together, right? And the way we look at it is the more we can do to help one another, the better. When you’re in, we’re all in and ready to help you in any way we can.

If you’re feeling good vibes about being a part of the Middle Chicks community, let’s get to it. Please reach out and let’s chat.
